The "mad" station wagon of the fourth generation under the internal plant code "B9", built on the basis of the "civil" model of the fifth generation, debuted in September 2017 - at the international motor show in Frankfurt, and reached the Russian market only a little less than nine months later - in May 2018th.

As a result of "reincarnation" in terms of design and construction, the car was transformed in a similar direction to other "fours", but technically significantly surpassed them, trying on the "heart" from Porsche.

The Audi RS4 Avant looks really stunning, and it is impossible to confuse it with a regular station wagon even with all the desire.

The huge air intakes in the front bumper, wheel arches widened by 30 mm, original "rollers" measuring 19 inches, hefty oval exhaust pipes, a diffuser in the rear bumper, a spoiler over the fifth door and "RS" nameplates declare about the serious potential of the five-door.

"Er-es-four" has the following dimensions: 4781 mm in length, of which the center distance "extends" to 2826 mm, 1866 mm in width and 1404 mm in height.

When equipped, the "extreme" wagon weighs 1790 kg.

Inside, the “fourth” Audi RS4 Avant can be identified by a truncated steering wheel, on-board electronics capable of displaying graphs of torque and acceleration, and sports front seats with integrated head restraints and a “tenacious” side profile.

Otherwise, it echoes the "civilian" model - elegant design, reference ergonomics, expensive finishing materials, a full second row of seats and a cargo compartment with a volume of 505 to 1510 liters.

Under the hood of the Audi RS4 station wagon of the "fifth" generation there is a gasoline six-cylinder engine with a working volume of 2.9 liters with a V-shaped structure, two turbochargers, a variable valve timing mechanism at the inlet and outlet and direct fuel injection, developing 450 horsepower at 5700-6700 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 1900-5000 rpm.

In the "base", the five-door is equipped with an 8-speed hydromechanical "automatic" Tiptronic and all-wheel drive quattro transmission with an asymmetric center "self-block" and a dynamic distribution of thrust along the axles (in normal conditions, the potential is divided in the ratio "40:60" in favor of the rear wheels).

The car "eats" the first "hundred" in 4.1 seconds, and the maximum "rests" at 250 km / h (for a surcharge, the "electronic collar" can be moved up to 280 km / h).

The fuel consumption in the combined cycle for the cargo-passenger model fits into 8.8 liters for every "hundred" of the run.

In terms of design, the Audi RS4 Avant of the fourth incarnation repeats the standard "A-fours" - a modular MLB "bogie" based on independent five-levers "in a circle", electromechanical power steering with progressive characteristics and ventilated disc brakes on all wheels (naturally, large diameter) ...

True, the "hot" station wagon is capable of boasting a sports suspension with reduced ground clearance, and for an extra charge it can be equipped with: adaptive shock absorbers, carbon-ceramic brakes and an active rear differential "sport differential".


In the Russian market, the Audi RS4 Avant in the "B9" body in the summer of 2018 is offered at a price of 5,375,000 rubles.

The basic equipment of this "mid-size lighter" includes: six airbags, 19-inch alloy wheels, combined trim, heated and power front seats, all-LED optics, MMI media center, premium "music" with ten speakers and a subwoofer, dual-zone climate control and much more.
