In 2015, there will be one more Chinese car on Russian roads - the Brilliance H230 model is being prepared for its debut, produced in sedan and hatchback bodies and available in China since 2012. One of the most remarkable details of the next Chinese novelty is the cooperation of developers with the German concern BMW, however, it is not known exactly what exactly this cooperation consisted of.
The appearance of the Brilians H230 is quite bold and interesting - streamlined body contours, dynamic stamps, a large glass area, a sports-style front bumper, an original radiator grill and large volumetric optics, both front and rear.
The Chinese will not have to blush for their appearance, the car turned out to be quite attractive, especially given its budget status.
The length of the Brilliance H230 is 4390 mm, the wheelbase is 2570 mm, the width of the body excluding mirrors is 1703 mm, and the height of the car does not exceed 1482 mm. The curb weight of the novelty is 1214 kg.
Unlike the exterior, the interior of the Brilliance H230 is not as bright and pretty. Everything inside the car is simple, modest and cheap. Mostly plastic is used in the decoration, and it is a little harsh and with a characteristic Chinese aroma. The front panel is designed in a trivial way and looks very outdated, while there is no place on it for installing a touchscreen display of a multimedia complex, so you will have to do without it. The layout of the cabin is traditional - five-seater, while there is enough free space in the cabin, so at least for this it is worth giving the “H230” family - five.
The trunk is not bad either, in the base it is ready to accommodate about 470-500 liters of cargo.
Specifications. The Brilliance H230 engine range includes only one power plant option. The Chinese have supplied the novelty with an atmospheric gasoline engine with 4 in-line cylinders with a total working volume of 1.5 liters (1498 cm³). The motor received a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and distributed fuel injection, is capable of running on AI-92 gasoline, meets the requirements of the Euro-4 environmental standard, and its maximum output is 105 hp. at 5800 rpm. The peak motor torque is reached at 3800 - 4200 rpm and is equal to 143 Nm.
As a gearbox, the engine receives a basic 5-speed manual transmission, an optional 6-range "automatic" is available.
The maximum speed of the Brilliance H230 is 180 km / h. The Chinese prefer to keep silent about the dynamics of acceleration and fuel consumption.
At the heart of the sedan and hatchback "H230" is a front-wheel drive platform, which, according to them, was helped by the Chinese to develop and customize specialists from BMW. The front part of the body of this model is supported by an independent suspension of the MacPherson type, the rear is supported by a semi-independent suspension based on a torsion beam.
The braking system of the Brilliance H230 is classic for a budget car - ventilated disc brakes at the front and simple drum brakes at the rear. The rack and pinion steering gear of the novelty is equipped with an electric power steering. Already in the database, this "Brilliance" receives the ABS and EBD assistance systems. More serious helpers, for example ESP, are not even provided as an option.
Options and prices. In China and most other markets where the Brilliance H230 is already available, the car is offered in two trim levels: "Comfortable" and "Elite". The list of basic equipment for the sedan and hatchback includes 15-inch steel wheels, rear fog lamp, additional brake light, two front airbags, adjustable steering column, fabric interior, immobilizer, central locking, air conditioning, power windows, electrically adjustable side mirrors, OEM audio system with 2 speakers and support for AUX / USB.
The appearance of the Brilliance H230 on the Russian market is expected in early 2015. Then the manufacturer promises to reveal the list of Russian trim levels and name the price.
