The subcompact model Honda Jazz of the next, third in a row, incarnation was first presented to the general public in the summer of 2013 - in Japan under the name "Fit", and in the European specification it debuted two years later - at an international show in Paris.

Compared to its predecessor, the car went through serious improvements - it not only "tried on" a new design of the exterior and interior, but also acquired modernized equipment.

In August 2017, the five-door made for the countries of the Old World underwent restyling (although at home it was modernized in the spring), as a result of which it was transformed externally (new bumpers, a radiator grill and "filling" of lighting equipment), acquired light adjustments and received an engine with a capacity of 130 horsepower.

The third generation of "Jazz" became even less like a hatchback, and more like a "microvan". But, at the same time, the car looks - aggressive, attractive and "mature", and its one-volume body with a large number of modern details is not devoid of a bit of sportiness.

An energetic front end with an evil gaze of headlights and a "curly" bumper, a dynamic silhouette with harmonious outlines and an expressive line that rises sharply along the front door and expands as you move to the stern, a spectacular rear end with original lanterns and a raised bumper - of course, the car is good from everyone parties.

The "third" Honda Jazz, belonging to the B-class according to the European classification, stretches 3995 mm in length, and its height and width are 1550 mm and 1694 mm, respectively. The front and rear axles of the hatch accommodate a 2,530 mm wheelbase.

Interior

The interior design of the five-door attracts attention with its striking design with the appropriate asymmetry of the front panel, carefully thought-out ergonomics and high quality materials. The center console, slightly turned towards the driver, accommodates a radio tape recorder and three different-sized air conditioner "twists" (in expensive versions - a multimedia system screen and a "climate" touch control unit). The stylish and laconic "board" of instruments and a beautiful multifunctional steering wheel with a three-spoke structure fit perfectly into the overall design.

The main trump card of the third generation Honda Jazz is a spacious interior that provides comfortable accommodation for all riders. The comfortable front seats boast a neat profile with optimally defined sidewalls and wide adjustment intervals. The back sofa, in turn, has a cozy shape and good density.

The luggage compartment of "Jazz" is distinguished not only by the correct proportions, but also by a decent volume - 354 liters in standard form. When folded, the rear sofa creates an almost level area, providing an impressive capacity for the B-class "hold" - 1492 liters.

Specifications

For the "third" Honda Jazz in the European specification, two gasoline atmospheric "fours" (meet the environmental requirements of "Euro-6") with an in-line arrangement, variable valve timing and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, which are combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" or a continuously variable variator and front-wheel drive transmission:

  • The base variant is a 1.3-liter (1318 cc) multi-point injection engine that generates 102 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 123 Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm.
Such a car goes to conquer the second "hundred" after 11.2 ~ 12 seconds, gains maximum 183 ~ 190 km / h and "digests" 4.6-5 liters of fuel in mixed conditions for every 100 km of run.
  • "Top" versions relies on a 1.5-liter (1498 cubic centimeters) unit with a direct "feed" system, producing 130 hp. at 6000 rpm and 155 N • m of torque at 4600 rpm.
The hatchback's fuel appetite ranges from 6.5 to 7.3 liters per 100 combined cycle. It reaches the speed of 100 km / h in 9 ~ 10 seconds, and the maximum for it is 185 ~ 190 km / h.

In other markets (already under the name Honda Fit), this five-door is offered in a wider range of modifications, including with an automatic all-wheel drive system. The car is also available with the Sport Hybrid i-DCD hybrid power plant, the output of which is 137 "mares" and 170 N • m.

In addition, in some countries, the hatchback can be purchased in an all-electric version, which has 124 horsepower and 189 N • m of maximum potential in its arsenal.

Design features

At the heart of the third generation Honda Jazz is a global B-class front-wheel drive platform with an independent system with McPherson struts at the front and a semi-independent layout with a torsion beam at the rear (in both cases, coil springs and lateral stabilizers are installed). High-strength grades of steel are abundantly included in the "skeleton" of the car body.

The hatchback's rack-and-pinion steering system is equipped with an electric power amplifier with adaptive characteristics. This "Japanese" is equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels (supplemented by ventilation on the front axle), with a whole range of actual "assistants" - ABS, EBD, BAS and others.

On the Russian market, "Jazz" of the 3rd generation is not officially supplied, but in the countries of the Old World (to be more precise, in Germany) it is sold at a price of 16,640 euros (≈1.160 million rubles).
