In the first decade of June 2016, the German company Mercedes-Benz, at a special procedure in Stuttgart, first demonstrated the E-Class station wagon of the new incarnation with the S213 index, which retained the Estate addition in the name and three rows of seats, but received a spectacular "outfit" and high-tech " stuffing ". The full-fledged debut of the car will take place at the international bride show in Paris this fall, after which it will begin to go to European dealers (including Russian).

The designers of Mercedes-Benz did their best - the cargo-passenger model from any angle looks attractive, solid and moderately dynamic, and differs from the sedan of the same name only in the design of the stern with graceful outlines and beautiful lanterns.

The outer dimensions of the "fifth" E-Class Estate are identical to those of the four-door: length - 4923 mm, height - 1468 mm, width - 1852 mm. Between the axles (front and rear) at the "barn" fits 2939-mm wheelbase.

The interior decoration of the fifth generation German station wagon does not have any differences in comparison with the three-volume version - it "flaunts" a chic design with a bunch of progressive solutions, expensive finishing materials and high-quality performance. The “apartments” of the car with comfortable seats in the front and second rows of seats are optimal for four adult riders, although there are a couple of additional “children's” seats in the “hold”.

The volume of the cargo compartment at the fifth "release" of the Mercedes-Benz E-class in a five-door body varies from 670 to 1820 liters. The rear sofa is cut into three parts, and when folded it forms a completely flat floor.

Specifications. Power line "Estate" includes three gasoline and a similar number of diesel units, which are combined with a 9-speed "automatic" and rear-wheel drive transmission (4Matic system is offered only for the most powerful modification).

  • The first include inline "fours" and a V-shaped "six" of 2.0-3.5 liters with turbocharging and direct injection technology, developing 184-333 "mares" and 300-480 Nm of peak torque.
  • Among the latter are the four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo engines and the 3.0-liter V6 engine (all directly powered), which have a performance of 150-258 "horses" and 360-620 Nm of torque.

Structurally, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate station wagon copies the sedan: an MRA bogie with a front double-lever and a rear multi-link (suspension is available in three versions), adaptive electric power steering and ventilated disc brakes on four wheels with a bunch of electronic systems. For a surcharge, the station wagon is equipped with an Air Body Control pneumatic chassis.

In the fall of 2016, the "eshka" in a cargo-passenger body will reach the Russian market, however, the prices and configurations are still kept secret by the Germans. As for the equipment, in this regard, the car will completely repeat the four-door of the same name.
