Since May 2014, sales of the all-road Citroen C5 CrossTourer have started in Russia. The French station wagon differs from the basic version by an off-road body kit, an increased chrome volume in the exterior, other wheel disks and the presence of an adaptive suspension. All-wheel drive Citroen C5 CrossTurer has not received, so it is still "all-terrain" in quotes.

The exterior of the Citroen C5 CrossTourer almost completely repeats the appearance of the base station wagon Citroen C5. The only differences are the presence of off-road aluminum protective linings on the bumpers, rims increased to 18 inches, roof rails and chrome side mirrors. Otherwise, both versions of the station wagon are identical.

The interior of the off-road Citroen C5 CrossTourer is completely identical to the interior of the base station wagon. We only note that as options, the novelty can be equipped with leather seats, a panoramic roof and a top-end audio system with 8 speakers and a subwoofer.

As for the trunk, it also has not changed and holds 505 liters in standard condition and 1462 liters with the second row seats folded.

Specifications. The new Citroen C5 CrossTourer in Russia received three variants of the power plant, two of which are diesel engines.
In the role of the base engine is a single turbocharged gasoline unit, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and a direct fuel injection system. It has 4 in-line cylinders with a total displacement of 1.6 liters (1598 cm3), which allows the engine to produce up to 150 hp. maximum power at 6000 rpm. We also note that the gasoline engine fully fits into the Euro-5 environmental standard.

The youngest among diesel engines is the 2.0-liter unit (exact displacement - 1997 cm3). It is equipped with 4 cylinders in-line, 16-valve DOHC timing, turbocharging and common rail direct fuel injection. The maximum power of the junior diesel engine is 163 hp, which develop at 3750 rpm. The upper torque limit of 340 Nm is reached already at 2000 rpm, which allows the diesel engine to accelerate the Citroen C5 CrossTourer from 0 to 100 km / h in the same 10.2 seconds as the petrol engine. The upper speed limit is slightly lower - 208 km / h. Fuel consumption in the combined driving cycle is also lower - 6.2 liters.

The top diesel engine also received 4 in-line cylinders, but with a displacement of 2.2 liters (2179 cm3). Like its younger sibling in the lineup, the flagship engine is equipped with a turbocharging system, common rail direct injection and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt. At 3500 rpm, the flagship produces a maximum 204 hp. power, and already at 2000 rpm, a peak torque of 450 Nm becomes available. From 0 to 100 km / h Citroen C5 CrossTourer with a top-end power unit accelerates in 8.6 seconds. At the same time, the upper speed threshold is raised to the level of 225 km / h, and the average fuel consumption in the combined cycle is declared by the manufacturer at 6.1 liters. Note that both diesel engines meet the requirements of the Euro-5 environmental standard, and for all three available engines, only one gearbox option is offered - a 6-band "automatic".

The 2014 Citroen C5 CrossTourer is built on the same platform as the base Citroen C5 station wagon. The front part of the body of the novelty is supported by an independent structure based on double wishbones and an anti-roll bar, and an independent multi-link structure is used at the rear. The main difference from the base station wagon is the presence of Hydractive 3+ hydropneumatic shock absorbers, supplemented by a clearance adjustment system that automatically adjusts the ride height automatically depending on road conditions and speed. If necessary, you can adjust the clearance manually: at speeds up to 70 km / h, the maximum gain will be 15 mm, at speeds up to 40 km / h, you can add 40 mm of additional space under the bottom, and at ultra-low speeds (up to 10 km / h), the clearance can increase by 60 mm, allowing you to drive through difficult sections of the road. At high speeds (over 70 km / h), the clearance is automatically reduced, improving the aerodynamic characteristics of the station wagon. In addition, to facilitate the loading of cargo into the trunk, the adaptive suspension of the novelty is able to gently lower the rear part of the body when you press a special button.

We also note that already in the base, the C5 CrossTourer is equipped with an anti-slip system with an intelligent control unit, which improves the off-road qualities of the station wagon when driving on snow and mud, as well as an ESP stabilization system, ABS, EBD and BAS systems. Disc brakes are used on all wheels of the novelty, while the front brakes are ventilated. The steering gear of the C5 CrossTurer is rack and pinion, supplemented by an electric hydraulic booster with variable effort.
