In August 2014, the official premiere of the Russian version of the mid-size Chinese crossover Hawtai Boliger will take place, which has already passed all the necessary certification and is fully ready to conquer our roads. In China, Hawtai Boliger is also known under the name Hawtai B35, has been successfully sold for several years and is positioned as a premium car, but this is by Asian, or rather exclusively Chinese, standards. However, if you look at the top-end equipment, the HTM Boliger can be considered a premium entry-level crossover.
In any case, outwardly, the novelty looks very impressive and presentable, demonstrating a completely successful symbiosis of the contours of the pre-styling Porsche Cayenne at the rear with an admixture of Bentley and Jaguar elements at the front.
The length of the novelty is 4618 mm, the length of the wheelbase is 2620 mm, the width does not exceed 1858 mm, and the height fits into the frame of 1754 mm. The crossover clearance is 172 mm. The minimum curb weight of the Hawtai Boliger does not exceed 1765 kg.
The five-seater salon received a rather controversial interior.
If no one should have any special complaints about its layout and ergonomics, as well as about the quality of the materials used for finishing, then the beige color, which the Chinese considered prestigious, is clearly not to everyone's taste.
Only the level of equipment can compensate for the bad color of the interior of the Khavtai Boliger, but here it is worth noting that a decent set of equipment is available only in the top versions, and in the base the crossover has very modest equipment, which clearly does not reach the premium class.
We only add that the trunk of the novelty holds 610 liters of cargo "by default" and up to 2100 liters with the second row of seats folded down.
Specifications. Initially, the front-wheel drive version of the Hawtai Boliger with a 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that develops 160 hp will enter the Russian market. power at 5500 rpm, as well as 215 Nm of torque in the range from 2100 to 4500 rpm.
Later, a 2.0-liter diesel turbo unit is expected to appear, the output of which is 150 hp. at 4000 rpm, and the peak torque falls at around 310 Nm already at 2000 rpm. The diesel will be offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Both motors are aggregated with a basic 5-speed "mechanics" and with a 4-band "automatic".
It is possible that a top-end engine will also be brought to our country, the role of which is played by a 2.4-liter unit with a return of 200 hp, which is aggregated with a 6-band “automatic” and is paired only with an all-wheel drive system.
The Hawtai Boliger is built on the platform of the first generation Hyundai Santa Fe and received an independent suspension with MacPherson struts in the front and a multi-link system in the rear. The front axle wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes, the rear wheels are equipped with simple disc brakes. The rack and pinion steering gear is supplemented with a hydraulic booster.
Complete set and prices. The start of sales of the Hawtai Boliger crossover in Russia is scheduled for February 2015.
At the start of sales, Hawtai Boliger is available in the only configuration: "mechanics and front-wheel drive", 18-inch alloy wheels, full-size "spare wheel", ABS system, halogen optics, full power accessories, foglights, leather interior, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera, heating front seats, climate control, two front airbags and an audio system with 6 speakers, a sunroof. The cost of the car is 799,800 rubles.
Later, the following configurations will appear: "simpler" for ~ 750,000 rubles, as well as a "version with a gun" at a price of ~ 860,000 rubles. The all-wheel drive Boliger is promised closer to the end of 2015 and the price has not been announced yet.
